Gregory Little is an artist, teacher, and writer. He is Professor Emeritus of Digital Art and Director of IRIS (Immersive Reality Innovation Space) at Lorain County Community College in Ohio. His work has been presented in the US, Europe, South America, Asia, and Australia, and he has published essays in peer-reviewed journals. Prior to coming to LCCC, Little taught at Bowling Green State University, Kent State University, SACI Florence, Oberlin College, Rhode Island School of Design, and Brown University. He began designing “avatars” for virtual worlds in 1990 and taught virtual reality in a studio art department (Kent State University) in 1992. He has developed artistic virtual worlds for the Palm Pilot, head-mounted displays, CAVES, Hemispheriums, GeoWalls, and web3D. Currently he is creating digital multi-dimensional worlds that combine 3d scans of war crimes, imaginary landscapes of sub-atomic processes, and news-media saturated spaces. These works are realized as virtual and augmented reality experiences, paintings, prints, and animations.
